2000 audi a4 main power relay
#12
I looked through the service manual wiring diagram and bentley only shows this relay J271 for the 1.8 engines. The 2.8 and 2.7"s do not have one. Does this sound right? has this relay some how been integrated into the ecu?

I want to say it's possible? Or it's not required for one reason or another?
God knows, I can do a few things on my car, electric work is not one of them.
My (1999) 2.8 only has the one relay in there for the SAI. At least that's what I think, I haven't had my ECU cover off in a while. I remember there only being one relay though.

The relays in our cars are a kind of "shot in the dark" guessing game. I had to replace my fuel injector relay and I ended up replacing half of the relays in there before I fixed my issue.
The "Main power" relay would have to be before any other relay (I would assume). I don't necessarily think it would be in the ECU.
My best guess would be to follow the main power cable coming off of the battery (not the starter cable) and see where it lands first. It has to be before the fuse box and if it truly is in that relay cluster, you'll know exactly which one it is.......but you may find the relay before that.
That's where I'd go from here.
