Unhappy 2000 audi a4 sputters and stalls in traffic

HI, if anyone would like to weigh in, id truly appreciate it.

i have an 2000 audi a4 with an APT engine.

i pulled 2 codes, maf and o2 sensor, then eventually changed MAF and O2 sensor. coil pack had a loose earth connector, fixed that up. and yet it still sputters and stalls in traffic.

any ideas?

if i had to guess i would say you have a bad vac leak, could be hose or check valve.... might also want to freshen up the plugs.....

but my best guess is a vac hose.... and i am not familiar with apt motors(2.8)?

Throttle body allignment maybe? Shot in the dark. Does it sputter while driving or just at idle?

APT is a 1.8 non turbo , also used in the b5 passat.
i will check on vac hose and check valve. would either or both cause the car to sputter and eventually stall after driving 30 mins to an hour? it starts and runs perfectly. it starts up act up in slow traffic and stop lights when in gear, if i put in neutral then it will stall. it starts up right away but wont engage, it is fine after cooling of for a few minutes.

it starts up and runs well for about 30 mins. in slow traffic or at stop lights, the car will start to sputter, eventually stall, but will start, and die, it works again after it gets to cool down after a bit.
i hooked up a scanner to it while driving around, all systems function well, except that the calculated load is always at 100% is that right?

makes me think one of your vac likes has a big slash that is opening at operational temp, had a very similar thing happen to one of mine, different symptoms though

Smile stall problem solved

it turns out it was a wiring issue. the coil goes thru the tachometer / instrument cluster before it goes to the ECU. thats what was causing the car to stall once it got to a certain temperature. it was a matter of checking the solders, and re solder the bad ones.
anyhow, thanks for the replies!

I would just like to revive this thread since I'm having the exact same issues with a 2000 Audi A4 B5 non turbo. Which wires do I need to check here? Should the cluster be taken out? Or should I just chuck under the bonnet? Thanks
