2001 b5 cluster question

Default 2001 b5 cluster question
Just purchased 01 1.8t when i hold the left cluster reset button down the display flashes MPH with a circle around it and 1 in the upper left hand corner. wondering what the function was.

Its a speed warning, could be wrong but from what I heard parents can set this and it make an annoying squeal when you go over that set speed. There are two settings I believe.
