I'm not familiar with this word. Please define.

There will be no tire smoke I've only had it slide out on me once and only briefly.

I think he word Hoon came from Australia, used to describe someone who was drives fast and loud, with lots of tire smoke. Hooning, or to hoon, is the verb. See Ken Block for examples as he is mostly responsible for the mainstream-ifcation of the word here due to his HOONIGAN stickers

Good to know. I'll keep that in mind for my video debut.

Got my brakes bled some more today and pedal feel is much better.

I really need to do that. Prolly should have done that today, I just replaced my front brakes.

It's surprising how much of an improvement fresh brake fluid can make. The DIY pressure bleeder sure makes things easy. I just did it a year ago and it was already pretty dark.

I've been working on tracking down another issue today that really bothers me. When the engine is at operating temp, if you come to a stop, sometimes the engine idle speed will be around 1700-1800 RPM. I used to believe that this was caused by the slight vacuum leak from my failing PCV, but I've since replaced it and have had zero misfire codes since.

I'm not sure if this is just a gremlin from the ECU trying to talk to the TCU or if there is something else at work. Thinking I may still have a vacuum leak causing this I did some data logging today.

In the first one, you can see that vehicle speed goes to 0 (clutch to the floor), but the engine speed and throttle position hover for a bit and decrease.

In the second log, it is more pronounced.

Any thoughts? I need to get the ECU tuned for the manual transmission, but JHM doesn't seem to want to return my calls/emails. Do you think this is the ECU getting confused or have I got some other issue?

Just for giggles I did a graph for wide open from a stop. I don't really know what the time step is or how to change it. It would be nice to have better time resolution.

Obviously no one has an informed opinion on your first two graphs. But it sure seems like the ECU is setting the throttle with the resistance of a torque converter in mind. When it finally sees there's no t-converter and the revs are too high, it settles them down.

I'll be interested to know if things get better when you solve the ECU coding for the trans.
