Default 90K service

Hey, i'm right about ready for my 90K service- my question is, in order to qualify for the 105K extended warranty does this service HAVE to be done at a dealership? I have a couple quality spots i can take my car to get this service done, and i know they wont screw with me one bit, but i'm not sure if taking the car to a shop other than a certified audi dealership will void the extended warranty. Anyways let me know the deal, and if i MUST take it to the dealership let me know a ballpark of how much this 90K service is gonna rape my bank account. Thanks! 01 A4 TQM by the way.

I think that would depend on who your extended warranty is though. My guess would be that it's fine, but if your paperwork says all items must be repaired at the Audi shop then I would think that is where you need to go.

If you haven't done the timing belt job yet, get it done.

i dropped by audi today and the 105K thing is crap. -> thats only an extended warranty on any replacement timing belt I do on my own, up to 105K. anyways, it comes out to about 89 bucks for the 90k service and they told me they could do 90k service+timing belt for $1000. is this a legit price? i've been expecting the timing belt service and am prepared to pay for it, but how much would a regular shop charge for the same thing? ****, if i can save a couple hundred on the same job then i will.

$800 to $1400 for the complete timing belt package at a dealer or indie audi shop. Make sure and ask if this includes all the belts water pump and tensioners. I would say for $1,000 that sounds about right plus they are doing the 90.
