96 A4 quattro B5 sensitive ABS
I have a 1996 A4 quattro, 5 spd, 230,000 miles, recently the ABS is hyper-sensitive when braking below 20 mph, the car has shown different codes including P1606-68-00, but right now there is no code and the problem still exists, the abs and brake lights are not on, moving any wheel sensor out will trip the lights, so I'm guessing the wheel sensors are all working? I also swapped out the control module under the back seat and the problem stayed.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!! Scott

i have the same problem. even though moving one of the sensors trip the light, i still think one or more of the sensors are bad. i've pulled my ABS fuse, disabling the system, so i don't get the hyper active ABS but i now have ABS light on, flashing brake light and 3 beeps when the ignition is turned on. i have sensors to replace but i haven't done that yet. i might do it in a month or so. if you want you can pm me and i might have fixed it.

Have either of you had any success in diagnosing this issue? The 99 Quattro I am driving normally has teh ABS light lit, but recently the light occassionally goes OFF and THEN the hyperactive ABS kicks in anytime braking at above 20mph or so as stated above. Then, after a minute or two, the ABS light goes ON again, and braking is normal (although, I would assume I have no ABS at that point).
Any thoughts? I replaced one sensor already that looked like it was worn out, cleaned the rest really well, but that didn't change anything. Checked connections to module under seat as well, and obviously fuses all checked and good.
