hey guys im new to the Audi world and need some help please. i got a A4 2.8l fwd for free and got it running last night. well it wouldn't go into gear so i dropped the gear selector box and found the plastic part that holds the bushing had broken so i went to the drawing board for a quick fix i designed a sleeve to go over said broken part and 3d printed the sleeve it works like a dream!!! but now it wont go into park and only starts in neutral and it also wont move when in a selected gear. the car has set up for about 5 years give or take. it ran and drove perfectly before my buddy parked it ( he bought a challenger scat pack) what should i be looking for ? i can clearly see the cable moving the linkage on the trans and i can also feel the trans go into gear. is there safety features that will disable the transmission?
