97 A4 parts compatibility
I have a 97 A4 1.8 Quattro. I have an opportunity to pick up a 99 parts car for dirt cheap. Are most of the parts interchangeable, such as the interior, wheels, multi function transmission range switch, computer, trnsmission computer controls. etc. etc.
Also what wheels will fit my 97 as far as different year stock A4 wheels and aftermarket.
Thanks in advance

Hi
The parts from a 97 and 99 A4 will be the same. Check engine codes to see if there is a match. AEB, ATW are the two most common ones. If the engine codes are not the same, then some parts in and around the engine will not be compatible with each other, so read up on specifics. As for the wheels, a B5 A4 has 5/112. Any wheels with a 5/112 studd pattern will suit. Though if your gonna put very wide wheels on it, look into whether they will physically fit. I currently have 225/45 R17 tires (so 17" with an offset of 45) and they look great, no problems. Refer to the following website for Audi wheel studd patterns:
http://wheels.customfastcars.com/fin...d-pattern.html
ALSO: Computers (ECU's) is a touchy subject. You need to make sure the ECU part number (located on the top of the ECU) is the same on both units to avoid problems.
Hope this helps
