Agreed. Unfortunately it doesn't take a whole lot to beat a 2.8

ORIGINAL: mhellman

I was under the impression that the A4 with the 2.8 would run closer to a 16 second 1/4 mile? (i.e. it's about as fast as my Odyssey minivan)

with the right driver, it should hit 15's no prob. throw some high octane fuel in there and you can probly do low 15's.

don't know why everyone thinks it'll be a one sided race. its an AWD car with a decent amount of tq. launched right he should take the rx8 in the 1/4. especially if the rx8 driver is like most rx8 drivers i know

well if you have a manual 2.8 vs. an automatic rx8 you probably have a chance, assuming both drivers are equally well at driving. if you have a automatic 2.8, try to refrain from racing lol. rx8 is much lighter but it has alot less torque. you should be able to take him on a circuit

I dont get why people have to race other people. I can understand rally racing and what not with our cars because they are AWD but come on. Our cars were not designed to be drag racing machines. I love to drive my car because I love my car not because I think its faster/slower then anyone elses car. I have walked many faster cars then mine in the corners because mine is better at corning and I know how to drive my car in the corners. That does not make mine better. I would get killed in a straight line against cars that I have walked in the corners.

doesn't matter what the car was originally intended for, its what the driver wants. i enjoy racing in a straight line and around turns. as for why most people drag race over rallying, simple, its easier. and it can be done much safer in the streets than rallying lol

that vid was absolutely horrible, plus it said the a4 was a 3.0... they are a good bit faster than the 2.8's

Just do it for gods sakes!!! Tell him you want to do a race cannon ball style, across your state-country-city-football field-mud-snow-rain-etc! F that mazda, its good for nothing, just a middle aged female mobile, most are auto anyways, if your car were one of the newer models it would be diff but I heard some fool talking about they had a fast car one day(2007 mini endorsed model or some shat) and smoked them with a 2 car distance-their car was a lot lighter and manual as well as mine but its all in the driver my friend-go for it, and remember no matter what the mazda isnt worth shat in the elements that we plow thru in our Audis'

long time since I posted,sup hiword,sineo????
