Default 99 a4 1.8T test pipe issue...??

ok, when I got the car, it had a 3 in test pipe... with that it had the famous CEL from the 2ed O2 sensor.... after looking and searching, I seen the angle block solution... so after thinking about it I made my own... it was free since I work w/ hydrolics.. long story short... no CEL anymore and it was free.. you might spend $10 to $15 bucks making one...

Most people have been adding the anti-foulers for years, I think they're 1.99 at autozone

The guy that I got the car from tried that.. and still came back on... I don't think the anti-foulers work that great.. well at least not on my car.

I just want to know why manufacturing companies know this is a problem and not just extended the bung by a half inch or so to stop all these problems

Ask the VW engineers why. Only cost them 18 Billion at the moment to get around emissions requirements.
