Um, well there are index marks on the Cams themselves IIRC. I hope you at least have a Bentley manual? This is probably the most precise task for these engines, so really you're at the rebuild the engine stage. I don't recall which valves would be open or closed but I remember something about piston 3. Either way, it's very specific, I would get the manual. That's not the kind of stuff I remember off the top of my head.

The bigger question is, if you don't know how to time your engine, how do you know you haven't destroyed it? IF the belt broke while driving, that pretty much means broken engine.

Line the crank pulley mark up with the mark on the lower timing cover. For the cams, rotate them so the oval brackets on the front are horizontal, with the larger of the two holes toward the center of the engine. That puts it timed correctly. As stated above, if it broke while driving, you can skip this step and proceed immediately to head or engine replacement. It's an interference engine - if it broke while driving, you have valve salad.

Two hex bolts below left of The pulley on the bracket, and two Allen bolts behind it, accessed through the openings in the pulley.

You need to look at a manual before you go any farther so you don't damage more parts. What was the deal when the belt broke? Driving or idling? How long was it running after it snapped?

Hopefully you lucked out. That bottom Allen bolt is a pain in the ***. My upper Allen was a 6mm that I could reach with an Allen socket but the lower I believe is a 5mm and ibadan to use an Allen key on it. Spray the bejeezus out of it with PB or liquid wrench, put the long end in, and grip the short end with vise grips to turn it. Go easy so you don't snap the ball end of the Allen off in the bolt head. That's a pain that you won't enjoy dealing with.
