Solid 3-5 seconds of cranking, sometimes I don't think it is going to start. I think it's the fuel pump relay though because the fuel pump never cuts off when priming, but I don't know eh that would make it take long to start

If its not cutting off its probably flooding. Try holding the pedal all the way to the floor then turning the key.

Holding the pedal doesn't help, any other ideas? And how long can I wait before replacing the cct?

Bye Bye valves if the cct breaks. i replaced it on my A4 with similar symptoms that you describe before any thing bad happened. On my S4 I had no warning that it was going and now I have new valvetrain in the 2.7.

Ok sounds like I'm going to buy a new cct! Anybody know a good DIY for it?

Any DIY's for it? Or do I just pop off the valve cover and just go from there?

I'm not sure that this applies, but read it anyway.

Ok so I went to replace the cct today and the chain is very tight, I doubt it's possible to get it any tighter. So I don't think it's the cct. What are the other options? No oil pressure light, clicking gets worse as the car warms up, and it looks fine under the valve cover, no sludge buildup at all that I can see
