A4 1996 2.8 temperature sensor location

Default A4 1996 2.8 temperature sensor location

I got an A4 1996 2.8 an the temperature gauge stop working the other day , my mechanic said that is the temperature sensor basted ,,, any body knows where is the temp. sensor located in a 2.8 engine 12V...

It's probably located at the front of the radiator its on a metal tube thing that holds it up

I'm assuming you mean the coolant temp sensor? If so, it's between the back of the engine and firewall about a foot down. You'll see a large black tube which is your coolant flange, and the sensor is in that.

Coolant sensor on a 2.8 is on the rear of the engine on the passenger side below the air intake tube that runs across the firewall between the MAF and the throttle body. Its pointing straight up and down and is held in with a hairclip type retainer. Disconnect the electrical connector pull the clip out with a pair of needlenose pliers (goes towards the firewall) and pull the sensor straight up. Make sure the oring comes out with it as the new one comes with a new oring. Leave the cap on your surge tank and you won't loose more than a cup of coolant while the sender is out.

yep mark c is right. i just replaced mine the other day good luck. i didnt drain a little water out and got sprayed in my face. and i have to admitt tasted kinda sweet. HOT. but sweet
