a4 b5 sunroof problems
Hey guys I have a question concerning the sunroof in a B5. I seem to have missing or something worn out in my sunroof system that keeps my sunroof from closing properly. I have previously removed the sunroof to see if it was a dry tight drive track chain that needed to be oiled or something. i can always open the roof, but when i attempt to close it, it binds as the track attempts to pull the glass forward. If i want to close it I would have to pull the glass forward as the motor attempts to pull it as well. I would like to repair or replace it before I recover my headliner. Does anyone have a schematic or something that give me a good breakdown for this issue, any help is appreciated guys.
I know the plastic guides break, screwing up the sunroof operation. Do you get loud clicking while trying to use the sunroof? IF you do it's the guides, not the motor. Usually it's switch, then guides that go with these cars.
What do the plastic retainer clips look like. i have removed the entire sunroof from the car before, and i never noticed the clips. i no longer have the sunroof slide cover in use, i have removed it since the headliner material was disentegrating and falling on my seats. I did notice the rails have a plastic covering that the track runs on has cracked and broken off in several places
