Hi,

This morning I noticed my battery light come on after an aggresive sprint from a stop light.
At idle or below 1000rpm im getting a good reading of 14+v and no battery light but as soon as I bring up the RPMs I get a battery light and only 12v or so.

Bad alternator?

maybe a bad line from the alternator to the battery. take it to autozone or advanced, they have a machine to check it out for free

 

I DID boost my Jeep yesterday....

 

It's the alternator. got it tested.

 

can jumping another car fry your alternator or was that just a coincidence?

 

if you do it wrong it can. if you do it normally it wont.
