evolution motorsport has one for $100 less than the carbonio and i guess it's basically the same thing but not as flashy.

and i'd just stick with a DV for best performance. i admit i also like the sound of a BOV... but until you're boosting more than stock levels, you're not gonna hear much

I would just save your money on the CAI and do the airbox mod you get about the same results for alot less

and then for the DV, I don't think you really need one if you're running stock boost, but most people run the Forge 006 or 007, or the DV out of the TT the 710N

I run the Forge 007 Splitter and to be honest you barely hear it making much noise at stock boost levels but its better than a standard BOV as it can be set to recirc at same time so you dont get engine management light come on. The 1.8T VAG's dont like BOV's too much but the splitter you will get away with. When boosting around 14+psi is when you will notice the nice turbo sound.

I have the EVO MS intake and it's a very good product. I bought it knowing I wasn't going to get much if any power gains from it but I liked the look and really wanted to hear my turbo. I did notice that the throttle response is better than stock but no difference in power that I could tell w/o a dyno. A good filter in the stock box will do the same power wise but won't sound or look as good. If your willing to spend $130+ on a dv get the forge 007 but a 710n from the tt will work just as well and only cost about $50.

You wont gain anything unless the stock one is damaged

This is bad info. The 1.8t can run a bov w/o any issues as long as the valve is closed at idle. There are tons of people running forge004 (me being one of them) with no issues or performance loss
