Default A4 with S4 springs?

I'm thinking about picking up a used set of H&R S4 sport lowering springs and put them on my A4 Quattro 2.8 that has factory sport package.

I was told they will work just fine.

Wanted to double check,

Thoughts?

Thanks,

yah should work, wont work on 1.8t's because the spring rates are different. but since your running a v6 in the front you should be good to go

cool...hoping someone else will reply that has done it.

from what I found in the last few minutes is that it might actually raise the car since the S4 is heavier....but being they are aftermarket with a drop perhaps it'll still lower the car at least an 1" from where it's now with my stock A4 sport suspension.

thanks,

why don't you just get H&R for the 2.8? at least you get something that was made for your specific car and will work for sure

Jeremy (ImTheDevil) ran S4 gear for a while before he went to CO's and I think it lowered him a bit, but the handling improvement was more noticeable. If you're gettin a wicked good deal for the S4 springs I say go for it, worst case you don't like them and swap somethin else on there, right?

Yea I actually sent Jeremy a PM to see what he thought since he's tried so many other things on his B5 with the S4 suspension.

I just dont want the car to be higher than it is now with my A4 sport suspension. I would think so, but with the A4 weighing in less it might be.

Thats what I was checking on....I dont want a lift :P more of a drop.

Thanks,

I'm getting a deal....thats the only reason I'm looking at them.

Hey bro, I got your message. I ran OEM S4 suspension on my car and it lowered me about a fingerwidth. These being aftermarket lowering springs, they will definitely bring your car down. Don't worry about them being intended for an S4 - many times, including on the H&R race springs, the part number is the same for 1.8, 2.8, and S. And Chris is right about my experiences with them regarding handling and ride.

I'd say if you're getting a deal, go for it.
