Default A6 Water Box and Battery Cover on an A4

I searched around but couldn't find any answers. Will the water box tray from a 1999 2.8 A6 fit on a 1999 2.8 A4?

I'm still trying to restore little things on my car here and there. Same year, same engine....hypothetically the same amount of space under both hoods, right? I'm unfamiliar with exact specs. I'm hoping worse case scenario is I'll have to cut a slit in the plastic near the passenger air filter for it to fit in place. The guy I spoke with told me it almost fit on his buddy's Passat but needed to be cut like I said. The parts look...similar, yet not so similar and you never know what will happen until you actually try fitting it. It looks like there is actually a lot I'd have to cut. What do you all think?

He's selling it for a couple bucks, but my B5 is several hundred miles away at school. I'd like a little input before I ship it to myself only to find something I didn't anticipate. Anyone run into this before or have reason to not use this tray?

Thanks

I'm talking about these pieces:

I've heard of people using the A6 front strut tower brace on A4's, so it would not surprise me if this piece fit as well. Would it be useful to you for me to measure the one on my car?

Thanks Chris, but I think I'm just gonna let this one go and look for the actual A4 piece. I pretty much talked myself out of this one lol. The guy listed it at $10 and said he'd let it go for $5 if I wanted to try to get it to work, but I don't think it's gonna fit without cutting it.

Is this piece one that should be kept on the car? I just got my 99 A4 and noticed it's missing. Although, it could be because of the battery installed... PO said it was a $400 battery.. it looks pretty big. He was an audiophile so I'm sure it was part of his setup for the system that was in it.

I think most cars no longer have them because they're easy to break and not necessary. It's just another beauty cover. BUT, I'm tired of cleaning out the leaves that slip under the hood and into that tray. I don't want to go too far out of the way to pick one up though
