yea its pretty much a load of crap that the dealer can "look" at it and see if its going to snap or not. but hey if they are paying for a new engine if it does, then why not. i would rather just have it changed so that i know its not going to. if your in TN you may not need the quattro. its certainly not bad to have, but your gas mileage goes down a small amount when you have 2 extra wheels to move. if you dont go off road or in snow/ice, you can get the FWD and have no worries. im in connecticut and the quattro is awesome in 6 inches of snow.

BTW valve float happens when you rev too high and the valve springs cant close the valve in time before the fuel is ignited. burning gases explode back into the intake. it doesnt have anything to do with timing although its still a very bad thing.

I live on a mountain. I usually use my Range Rover for bad weather. I am a real sucker for those too. Mine is a 95 RR 4.0 SE and I love it. I've had it for 5 years. I'm looking for the Audi to be a companion to it and my 99 Lexus. I want something quick, 5 spd, good milage and fun to drive. Maintainance doesn't bother me. Its part of being a car freak!!! Should I shoot for the FWD??? 71,500 mi 2001 model $7500.00

Quattro all the way. Go to the Off Topic forum and watch the Secrets of Speed sticky. After the hard-on goes away you'll want to buy the first Quattro you see.

I watched that video. The swelling has subsided a little and I think it pushed me over the edge for a Quattro. I think tomorrow is the day I go and look at it.

I don't know much about the B6s but I don't see why they are not good cars. In my opinion the B5s look better than the B6s. I've never liked that egg shape they have.
