Default ABS on brake flashing

recently my abs turned on and brake light is flashing. It turns on and off when i drive. I checked it with VCDS and ABS has no codes. Any idea what could be causing this? is my abs module dieing?

break pedal switch.. your car will shut off the abs and traction control if the switch isn't working properly.. its about $60 at any auto parts store, but they have to get it from the dealer so it will take a few days to get..

That combination of lights, along with 3 beeps on startup, is the indication that the ABS module is dying.

The break lights flashing or doing anything other then what they're supposed to is a indication of the break pedal switch.. Your computer uses the same switch to enable the abs. If it is getting mixed signalsof wwhether the pedal is being pressed or not it will simply disable the system. It will re-enable once you turn off the ignition and turn it back on.

I know this may not solve your issues, but I recommend you take out the ABS sensors on each wheel hub and clean them. I remember my friend changed his axle on his Passat once and has similar problems afterwards.

When replacing the ABS module does it need to be programmed or is it something I can do on my own? My shop doesn't have equipment for Audis
