ABS and Brake Light On
Hi guys, yes i know there are other postings on this and I have read most of them, it just seems to me that I have a little bit of a different problem. I just got my car back from the shop and instantly it started doing this, I will go about a mile, not even a mile and my abs and brake light will come on, it was not doing this before and I found it odd, also before the shop the brakes were good, now all of a sudden they almost go to the floor, I checked the fluid level and it is fine. Also I was going and I can feel the brakes engage, to the point where my car stopped in the middle of an intersection, I have read that it could be a sensor or a wire, the guy did the clutch, so a lot of things were taken off, including possibly the two front tires. From everything I have read it doesn't seem like an ABS module, but I may be wrong. Thanks for the help!
This doesn't sound out of the ordinary (luckily).
In my experience when the brake/ABS lights come on a while after driving one of the ABS sensors simply is not pushed in far enough, or it's damaged. In either case the sensor is not properly reading. You would need VAG-COM to find out which sensor is causing the issue unless you intend to do the work to check the sensors individually.
If the brakes go to the floor this typically means there is air in brake system. The clutch slave cylinder shares fluid with the brake system so it's possible air was introduced through there (although it isn't likely unless they changed the clutch slave cylinder).
Question: do the brakes get any better/feel stronger AFTER the ABS/brake lights come on? If the answer is yes then everything could be related.

I haven't really felt that big of a difference, maybe a little bit better. I also forgot to add that I was told there is a leaking wheel cylinder on one of the tires, also it is a little rough and shaky until it hits forty, then it smooths out.
I hear a little bit of squeaking from the right rear tire, not too much though. I believe that is the one I was told has a bad wheel cylinder. The thing is if it has a bad wheel cylinder wouldn't it leak brake fluid, maybe not a lot, but a little?
no and is electrical, think of it as a speed sensor that sense which wheel is slipping via speed and does corrections that way. and it wouldn't be a squeaking it would be a metal on metal noise. the tone ring is a circle with slots cut out the abs sensor is a cylinder of metal.

Sorry I'm a little confused, I got that the wheel cylinder is metal, but I'm confused about the ABS sensor and the tone ring portion.
Thanks, I think I figured it out, I had some air in the lines, cleared most of it out and took it for a spin and it was much smoother, also took out the ABS sensor on the front drivers side wheel, but I believe it was the lines more that the sensor.
