ABS, BREAKE and AIRBAG lights on, unnable to get codes...
Hi everybody, I got my A4 a few weeks ago and I'm just getting into the Audi stuff.
The car is a A4 Quattro 2.8L V6 from 1998 and I believe that I've made a really good deal on this car.
However what I need help with is the OBD-II stuff. Here's my problem:
-I have 3 firm lights they are ABS, AIRBAG and BRAKE and I can't read the codes. My housemate has one the exact same model (except his is from 2000) he has the cable and the VAG-COM software. When I hooked that up to my car nothing came up. The software keeps looking for feedback from the onboard computer and it doesn't show anything.
At first we thought it was the cable so we tried on his car and everything worked.
So, I thought I might have a bad connection from the car pin connector to the onboard comp. I took the car to an electrician down the street. He was able to read something but unnable to delete/diagnose those specific lights.
Are there any ideas on what is going on?! Any help is very appreciated. By the way I looked in the forums and I saw this thread "ABS light, no code?", it resembles the problem that I'm having but it is also inclomplete and didn't help me at all.
Thank you so much in advance.
