ABS wheel sensor, D.S. front

Can't get the sensor to come out. Should it just slide out? Also, followed the wire and lost it under the hood. Where is it plugged in? Hynes book not to helpful on that.

the wire goes into the fender well wall, not in the engine bay. put a pair off pliers on it and wiggle it out, its probably rusted in, it should pull straight out.
