Default Is adjustable intermittent wiper self contained in switch?

I would like to install the adjustable intermittent setting for windshield wiper in my car. Is everything in the stalk or is the relay (or anything else) different ?

thanks

Swapping a delay stalk into a local 96 12v has been a project on the table for me for over a year - we just haven't gotten around to it. Logically the delay would be built into the switch and the wiring would be the same external to it since it can easily be incorporated onto the output wires Of the switch - there's no need for anything else. The conversion should be transparent beyond the switch casing. I think it'll be a plug and play unless Audi decided to dick with the connector pinouts.

The first couple production years of A4s did not have adjustable delay for the wipers, just one set delay spacing. The idea is to swap in a newer wiper stalk with the adjustable delay.

Once we get around to doing the swap on the 96, I'll post up results.

Part# 4D0 953 503 B (sedan)
part# 8D0 953 503 D (Avant)

Those are the 98-2001 wiper stalk numbers if that helps.

Cool. I have a switch from a 2000 sedan that we're going to use for it, but having the PN reference is always good.
