stock setup = stock boost. if you dont tune for it you cant increase boost.

your 98 doesnt have a MAP so no diode mod is available.

and do you know for sure it will handle 20psi? cuz thats a lot of boost for that little baby turbo. Would i have to swap in new oil lines or intake manifold? I just cant get my head to wrap around that one
what exactly do you think would break? if you have increased fuel volume to match the increase in air, why wouldnt the engine run fine? i know 5psi on a honda engine is considered a lot, but this is a whole different ball game.

I guess im just trying to find out how much boost i can run off my stock setup without having to bump up my oil lines or injectors and stuff like that. Im not looking to double my psi or anything but I wanna push the whole system to its max while still being safe. I read up with the ko4 if you chip you have to do oil lines and etc and just wanna know where the line is on the ko3.

and another thing i was wondering about is if i do manually pull of my wastegate and adjust my boost by the rod how does the computer know to compensate for everything? cuz i know that even 3 extra psi is a lot. That would be a big difference in the whole system.

And mike how can the k03 run that much boost without blowing up? is it designed to handle that much?

The ECU uses the MAF to know that there is more air coming in, it also uses the load reading from the maf to adjust the adv timing.

ok so sense the computer knows more air is being forced in it will compensate with the gas correct? and what is the max boost i can push on that stock setup before swapping oil lines and such

Yes but only to a point since the stock tune is not setup for the much higher air flow. The chip tunes are since they are already programmed to run at the higher boost levels. When you start pushing higher boost on a stock program you do so at your own risk.

Why would the oil lines need to be replaced when looking to make more power?

ok and i understand that their is a limit on that stock setup. but i was wondering what it was? around what boost is safe for that stock setup? and i just heard along the way that sometimes you have to replace the oil lines to your turbo. since its boosting at higher psi it might require more oil for cooling? not sure just pickin my own brain.

Buddy I dont think your hearing what everyone is saying. Your stock car is tuned as it is for a reason if you want more boost save up for a chip your looking for some half *** way to give you maybe a tiny bit of power at the expense of a 700 dollar turbo

Only time you should have to replace the oil lines is if your replacing a turbo that went bad because of oil starvation.
