Aftermarket CD Deck
I currently have an aftermarket CD deck installed in my 1999 Audi A4 1.8T. This was done about a year ago.
Recently, i had a CEL come on for the car and when i took it to the mechanic, they said that they couldn't read the codes as i had an aftermarket deck installed and the OEM radio was linked to the electronic systems.
If this is indeed true, is there anyway or anywhere (cheap, that is) i can still keep the aftermarket deck and be able to read the codes at the same time? My mechanic said that it would cost abuot $200 for him to rewire the set up and i really don't want to spend that money if possible.
My CEL is still on and i'm a little worried now even though the car runs fine. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks!
