Default Aftermarket mufflers

O.k., so I don't have $800-$1000 for a nice bolt on exhaust. I was thinking about just getting a nice looking muffler like this one and having a shop weld on a pipe with a flange on the end so I don't have to hack up my stock exhaust. Would this add a nice sound that's a little louder than stock? I figure with the stock resonator, it shouldn't be too loud. Any thoughts, comments?

I don't know about that particular muffler but yeah, putting on a good one gives a nice tome. The Magnaflow 14816 in particular is a favorite on our cars. Search for that one on an A4 on YouTube and you'll find videos that'll demonstrate the tone.
