Default Air Bag Light

I think I need to get a new SRS module, and have found a few good deals on used ones. Can anyone tell me if this model number is compatible with my car? It says it works in 96-02 A4/S4. I have an 01 1.8t quattro tip. The model number is 8A0 959 655 D. Thanks.

Have you scanned with vagcom to make sure it's not a seat bag connection issue? It's very common...

Actually, I was able to get it scanned after I posted this. This is what we found.

Yeah that does seem pretty cut and dried. You gonna try cleaning the wiring connectors first to see if that helps? I'd check and clean the sensor connectors too. It's easy enough, cheap enough, and is worth a shot before you spend for a new controller.

Well, I found a used one for $40. Think I'm gonna go that route.

If you know anyone with a vagcom, it can help you narrow down the prob. There are many things that cause it. The vagcom can even clear it if the problem isn't with the module.

Yeah the code he has is a "hard error" meaning it is non-resetable with a VAG.

Alright, I'll let you know. You can find them used for cheap on Ebay.
