The way they show it done in that write-up is actually not correct. During re-installation of the filter, it's really easy to damage the flap in the bottom of the airbox and you'll end up spending an arm and a leg replacing it. Plus, try removing that heat shield on a hot car during an oil change service for a waiting customer...It's friggen hot!
Leave the heat shield in place. Unclip all the lines and wires as shown, but also pull off the intake hose to the turbo and the DV hose (make sure you have a replacement clamp). Undo the 10mm bolt from the right side fender holding in the airbox. Lift the whole box out and replace the filter on the bench. Make sure the rubber grommets are still there for the airbox locating holes during reinstallation.

lol dont do all that that sounds pointless to me. my friend and i replaced ours and it took 10 mins tops and wasnt very difficult by any means... take off the cover, unplug the connection, pop off the three tabs and yank it out and shove the new one in... easy as that!

...unless you break the valve in the bottom of the box. It's actually easier to pull the whole box out then to mess with the heat shield, especially if it's hot.
