Default Alarm Issue!!!

Hello my name is Harry and I am currently having an issue with my alarm system. I have a 96 A4 and the previous owner lost the key fob. I purchased one but havnt had it programed yet so in turn i am unlocking and locking my door from the door itself. Well I came out and found my car alarm just going off a solid beep and wouldnt shut off. The only way i could get my car alarm to stop is pull the battery off. I put it back on and alarm is off but the alarm is still engaged and wont let me start my car. Any help would be appreciated as to how i can get the alarm to disengage. I would really care less if i had the alarm just want it off so i can drive my car. thanks
Harry

did you try the search button?

someone else had this problem, i forget who, idk how or if he fixed it or not, I've done some generic searching on the net(a while back);
from what i understand you need to either go to a stealership and get a fob, or pull the alarm.

however like you said, if you cant start the car your best bet is stealership help, before pulling the alarm(idk how the wiring works so idk if pulling it out would "disengage" it from the starter.. if you get what i mean)

yea definitely get you the thing that sucks is that the closest dealer is an hour and a half away. wish i knew someone in my area with a vagcom so i could scan my car maybe that would help with diagnosing my problem. someone on vwvortex thinks it could be the central locking pump in the back...im willing to try anything at this point

The horn is located in the back right of the trunk behind the carpet wall. You could disconnect it from there. If its a constant sound my guess is the horn is shorted somehow, if it constantly is a pulsing tone, you probably have something wrong with your alarm control module. I would disconnect the horn, and then scan for codes with a VAG COM in the alarm module.
