Default Another Audi with an oil pressure problem? NOOOOO!!!!

Alright guys,

1998 Audi A4 1.8T (156,000 Miles) - pictures on profile

Now I know everyone has heard of everything on these forums regarding oil pressure problems, but I can't seem to find one that addresses mine.

Here is the issue:

My oil pressure light dings 3 times and goes off. It has only happened about a dozen times over the last year and a half.

This is how it happens:

After a decent amount of driving (30-45min) when I am in a low gear and under 2k RPM's I get the oil pressure light which pops on and dings three times then doesn't bother me again.

Car runs very well. 156K miles on the car and I have been changing it with Mobil 1 0W/40 every 3K miles on the nose since I bought it used with 132K miles. I have also seafoamed it twice (not back to back, but about 3 oil changes in between them) to no avail.

I've been contemplating doing the Auto-RX two bottle cycle with the Rotella-T synthetic oil that they approve.

What other signs or symptoms should I be looking at?

Do I need to replace my Oil pressure switch? If so, can you link a DIY for me?

Thanks ahead of time for any help. You guys are great at helping other's with their problems and concerns.

BUMP. Does anyone have any idea?

I'm sure you guys are getting sick of reading about these issues and telling people what to fix/repair, but my example doesn't fit any other posters problems unfortunately .

Thanks guys,

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical oil pressure gauge and see what is really going on.

Do you know anything about previous owners' oil change habits?

There is an aux plug somewhere on the line that I can tap into right? Does any one know where I would plug into?

Unfortunately no. The service records on the carfax seem like he took care of it. Also, the condition the car is inside and out makes me believe he/she took very good care of it. Like I said before, the car runs great. Pulls great, idles stable, doesn't leak or consume oil, etc.
