buddy got a set of koni 82 2502 sport sturts with h&r 29996 springs.. came off a 2000 1.8 and wanted to buy them.. only thing i was worryed about was the weight diff in the motors.. would this set up work well with my 2.8? would it rake my car? is there that much of a weight diff between the 1.8 and 2.8 engines? cars?

 

there is a large difference in weight. im not sure about putting 1.8t suspension on a 2.8, but i know if you do the other way around (a 2.8 suspension on a 1.8) its too stiff and makes the front of your car raise up even higher. i would assume the opposite would be true also.

 

sport suspension and a lowering...sick lol. jk probably not a good idea but depends on the price lol.

I don't think 1.8's suspension will go on a 2.8.

I have heard many 2.8's running S4's suspension though.

well i know that this shocks will fit on my car.. the part number is for 1.8 and 2.8.. only thing i would be worryed about was the springs.. i could buy the suspension and sell the springs an get diffrent h&r's.. mabe something a little stiffer.. but he only wants like 450 prob for the set.. or just keep my stock springs with the shocks.. any thoughts?

 

so talked to both h&r and koni directly an they both said this set up would work fine..
