Default Any danger in changing really old diff fluid?

My car has 160K miles on it, and I don't know whether the diff fluid has ever been changed....I've had the car for 2 years.

I read somewhere that if fluid is that old, it is sometimes best to leave it alone rather than change it. Something about the detergents in the new fluid could cause leaks around seals.

Anybody see a problem with me changing out the front and rear diff fluid with some Royal Purple Max Gear 75w90?
