anyone gotten though emissions with a test pipe??
a buddy that i work with has a 99ish elcipse gsx with a test pipe and he says that how he get though emissions with the test pipe, is to diconnect the waste gate so it will not build boost while they are running it on the dyno has any one tried this with an a4??? he has shown he threads on a local colorado dsm forum that give the directions on how it is doneso i know it can be done on the dsm cars
emissions testing varys so much from state to state what works for you may not work for anyone else. in connecticut they dont put it on a dyno, they just put a sniffer in the tail pipe while the car is at idle. if you dont have a cat, you will fail this test, theres no way around that. boosting or not, your car still puts out harmful gasses and if they are not burned in the cat, they will exit your tailpipe.
turning off the turbo would be like putting a piece of electrical tape over your CEL. its still there and they will find it. running zero boost doesnt make your car cleaner.

Here in southwestern PA we've heard of this "emissions testing," but aren't sure how to do it. We only make most people have cats cause it makes the yuppies happy. It's so CUTE how they think they're environmentalists. Just get a lick n' stick inspection from a buddy. Cops only care if the inspection is up to date; they have no way of testing for "greenhouse gases" at a routine traffic stop.
