Default Is anyone in Massachusetts that is good with A4 2.8 B5's

Car is throwing misfire codes in 1,2,3....wondering if someone local to the
(413) area (north adams, pittsfield area) could give me a hand getting my A4 back on the RD.

Any help will not go unrewarded...Im fairly flexible but would work around anyones schedule

Any other codes? Or drivability symptoms? Sounds like a cam sensor took a dump or you've got a possible worn cam chain tensioner or a timing belt that jumped a tooth.

I know NickBroderick is good at curb surfing his 2.8. Don't know if he's good at anything else related to the 2.8.

How much of a project is the chain tensioners to change out...Does the front end have to come apart? I do feel as though it is a timing issue...The day before my car decided to take a "dump" and run like **** i was coming home from my brothers house and took a hard right hand corner and anytime I take a corner hard the car beeps and shows a picture of the engine in the cluster...so two questions is this beep coming from the AWD or like a loose mount? How would the timing suddenly jump out of time?

I've never done the cct job but I think you may have to have the front end off to make sure the engine is in TDC.

When you say picture of the engine, I assume you mean the check engine light? Or is it an Oil or coolant symbol?

B5 A4's don't have sensors on the engine mounts.

If the Cam Chain Tensioner went the chain could loosen and skip a tooth.

When i say it beeps and a picture of the engine comes up on the cluster it is between the tachometer and the spedometer(digital display). Im not refering to the CEL, the check engine light is usually on but like i said only when i drive hard into a corner and accelerate out does it beep and show this image in the center cluster. The image is distorted but i hear that is a rather popular thing to happen to B5's

oil was just changed and I have no leaks that I am aware of...Might be worth a double check but still, this beeping noise you feel is from low oil? Wouldnt it beep going up or down a steep hill, the only time i hear the beep is in the corners...

Im willing to bet that the cam chain tensioner loosened, it is pulling a code for the angle of the cam being way out of place. If in fact the CCT isnt in perfect time is this where my misfires are coming from in 1,2,3? (A4 2.8 B5)

Also the compression in cylinders 1,2,3 is very low around 50 psi. With timing being off is low compression usually a symptom?

sounds like your timing is smashing your valves I've never had the light come on on hills just around corners. Are you driving it with these symptoms?
