Yea i know that as far as i got. I cant seem to locate the wires on the plug for the factory amp. I tried the DIY but get nothing out of my sub. Plus that was for a 99 and i have a 01.5 :[ what wires on the plug are the RCA +/-
***EDIT .. im trying to hook a amp/subwoofer up to stock headunit. My factory amp burned itself up.

my camera is at g/f's house.. umm ill expain it better i guess.. The factory amp is on the rear speaker, im simply taking the shitty amp, and removing it from the system.... then im adding a more powerful amp to the system. Im looking for the LOW LEVEL/RCA lead's (color of wire) to connect to the amp to make my sub go boom boom (haha)
what pic do you need, cuz ill draw one if i have to

you have to use a line level converter. it accepts the rca connection and has regular wires on the other end. you just hook the rca's from the amp into that and then the wires into any + and - connection on the headunit. some use the stock sub connections, others just splice into the front or rear channels
beat me to it, damn, but yea or you can pick up a cross over to truly fine tune the sound. honestly i would chuck the speakers and pick up a nice componet system like polk, or alpine, any way here is a good site for speakers, www.millionbuy.com i use them for everything
i have replaced all my speakers with Polk, and im running the 2 front's right now cuz the rear amp crapping out on me. I Just went and picked up the line level converter.. so here is my noob question.. what wires go in the back? i cut the stock amp harness plug off and im searching for the pre-amp's cant seem to locate them. any idea's?
oh and thanks for the help
im a nub when it comes to audio

If you convert from speaker signal to a low frequency signal (rca) and run a sub off of it, it will not sound half as good as getting a head unit with RCA outputs built in. In an ideal system you cut off all of the low frequency signals to the tweeds and mid range speakers and send only the lows to the sub. You can't do this with the system you described.
