Anyone running E85 in there 1.8t

what i thought at first too, but then read this ( http://www.change2e85.com/servlet/Page?template=Myths )which claims that you only have a 5-15% loss in fuel efficiency. they also claim that your engine should have no problems gasket and seal-wise with dealing with e85. but on the other hand they do sell the product, which makes me kind of wary

For a E85 car to only get 5% less miles per tank it would have to be getting about 25% bettter MPG. There is a reason why people have to run much larger injectors when converting to E85 and thats because you have to spray way more fuel into the cylinder.


There are a few A4 owners on AZ that have done the E85 thing. The one huge thing you have to watch out for is the fact that the ECU doesn't register knock when running E85, so it is very easy to blow up the motor if you push the adv timing too far since the ecu doesn't pull any timing, this also means the motor is not balancing out the 4 cylinders equally like it does on normal fuels.
