Question ATP or 034 manifold ???

does any1 have a ATP or 034 stock location manifold on a k03/04?
is it worth it? whats better for a k04; stock, ATP, or 034 motorsport turbo manifold?

i was just wondering because i come from a (honda) N/A background and thts the 1st thing we swap out.

i have 1.8 with k&n filter, 3inch downpipe and 3inch exhst up to the rear diff then trasitions to a 2.25 borla. i plan to get k04.

thnx for the input/info

are you chipped right now? If not there wouldn't be much of a difference. If your car is chipped (or k04 and chipped) then it will allow better flow. going just what ive heard and reading eurotuner magazine 034 manifold seems to be the better of the 2. But they are both high flowing then stock. im not sure if the 034 manifold is 3" though, website gave no info on it.

If I remember correctly, 034 gets their manifolds from ATP. Stick with the stock one and you'll be fine.

the reason i asked is because i was reading up turbo tech and came across this bit from garretts website. i would like Tq off the line but i would like to give the k04 little more brthing room at top end. so, wondered is it worth it?

Manifold design on turbocharged applications is deceptively complex as there many factors to take into account and trade off

General design tips for best overall performance are to:
*Maximize the radius of the bends that make up the exhaust primaries to maintain pulse energy
*Make the exhaust primaries equal length to balance exhaust reversion across all cylinders
*Avoid rapid area changes to maintain pulse energy to the turbine
*At the collector, introduce flow from all runners at a narrow angle to minimize "turning" of the flow in the collector
*For better boost response, minimize the exhaust volume between the exhaust ports and the turbine inlet
*For best power, tuned primary lengths can be used

for a k04 you dont really need to spend tons of money on an exhaust mani. the stock one is ok, obviously you upgrading cant hurt but your not going to get huge gains. cast log style manifolds, like your stock one or ATP's, spool faster which is what you want. and you wont be going with a tubular manifold because the cheap ones are junk, and the ones that arent junk cost more then a new k04. there are ATP knock offs out there that are pretty good for like $150.

thnks guys.

i was planing on installing a vr6 Maf with a more "aggresive" n75 valve along with the atp mani.

(with a k04, front mount, injctrs (386cc maybe), and ecu tune)

I have a Audi A4 01 the 1.8 and for some reason when i try to drive it the car just jerks and i changed the ignition coils and spark plugs and now it only stops running and jerks after 5000 rpms but i need to find out what it is.... i know its a random miss fire but if any of you know exactly what can be causing this help please!!

umm how about you start your own thread with your own problems.

you cannot use a different sized maf unless you have software that calls for it. if you try it will run like crap. same goes for injectors, they are only needed if you get an agressive tune, and only run the size it calls for.

and if your going to be buying an N75, why not just get a manual boost controller and not have to get one in the future? my car came with a "race" n75 from either ECS or purems, i forget which company it says on there, but theres really very little difference between the stock one and the "race" one. both are non-adjustable.
