Audi A4 1998 2.4
Hi, I have just bought a 1998 Audi A4 2.4 version. IK don't know how to wsork the control panel -- the radio air/con etc and my instruction manual is in Japanese.
Is there a website which visually shows and / or demonstrates / explains what each button is for? Thanks

Hi,
i recently acquired the 2.6 v6 a4 1996 and had the same challenge - the manual is in japanese so have just discovered what each does by trying them out
I take it from your username youre in NZ too - the radio mine came with had a jammed CD so the cheapest way to replace it was an American HiFi brand radio from The Warehouse at about $70 to $80 - theres nothing else so far that also has the front USB, line in and SD card reader for that price range and the radio itself works great.
Dunno if your control panel is the same, the attached photo is whats in mine, from the top row left to right ,heres what they do:
1: headlight adjuster - up and down
2: park lights LHS
3: park lights RHS
4: rear window demister
5: hazard lights
On the aircon panel:
*Left hand side, top to bottom:
- front windscreen demister
- auto function button - press that to see what icons light up and play with it from there
- Air con on/off
+ and - buttons at bottom set selected temperature
* Right hand Side:
- top 3 buttons select which air vents / combination of you want, upper vents, mid vents lowervents
- bottom button selects air recirculation within car or fresh air inlet - remember to check the fresh air filter and clean it
- - and + select fan speed
at night check that the dash lights are working ok - the dash light dimmer is on the clock adjuster on the cluster instrument panel - turn left/right to adjust dash light - pull out to adjust clock
im unsure if theres more functions, just listed what i use so far, hope it helps.
When you do a service, get your mechanic to add powerup to the oil to increase the oil film strength and reduce friction.
