Audi a4 b5 1998.5 2.8l idle bouncing between 400 and 600 when in neutral?
She starts fine and the two things that happened out of nowhere last night are that the remote now only works about a foot away (Just got a new remote less than a month ago and was working fine until yesterday) and when I'm in neutral coasting to a stop the idle will bounce roughly around 400-600 rpm typically it's around 900ish rpm. When I'm driving it's fine. I have a O2 sensor out but that's been out for a couple months now. Anyone know where I should start? Are the two things a coincidence or tied together? Oh and also yesterday when I pulled the key out before any of this happened the car had locked itself. When i attempted to restart it it wouldn't start (Wouldn't turn over) Radio still was on and so was the alarm. I pulled the battery because nothing would stop the alarm. Later after work hooked it back up and no alarm problems since. Just the rpm thing and the remote. And yes, I double checked the battery is hooked up perfectly. Anyone have any ideas?? Could it be that the battery is going out or the alternator? Thanks!
