Hi there, my 96 A4 turbo Quattro idles strange sometimes. It bounces from 600 to 900 then settles down. It also bounces when the air con is on.
Some threads say to clean the ICV, and I have recently read that the 1.8 don't have an ICV. I know of threads from owners with the same problem, but I have not seen anyone say they have fixed their problem and how they did it.
I have cleaned the throttle body, but it still persist.
Can anyone help?

 

Check for a vac leak.

 

clean you TB and reset it, and check for vacuum leaks
