Default audi a4 b5 engine swap

I have an 2000 a4 b5 1.8 non turbo and i am thinking about swapping the engine from 1998 1.8t. how much changes have to be done in order to do this?

i cant be positive since non turbo was never offered here, but id imagine the swap is pretty simple. i would guess engine, harness, and ecu, as well as the turbo engine sensors. id be willing to bet it would be pretty straight forward, but im not sure on things like throttle body

Well I have everything on the turbo engine. Because I have the both cars together. All is needed to take the turbo engine out and put it in to my non turbo audi.

Having both complete cars is the best possible scenario. You never know what kind of weird hardware becomes necessary that you'll have a hell of a time sourcing.

How much work has to be done in order to achieve everything perfectly working? How many things have to be changed? What about ECU and imobilizer, cluster?

Well I feel like since you have both complete vehicles you should be able to use one as a parts car as needed which is a good scenario. Now the biggest issue you will encounter I would imagine is the ECU there would be a big difference between a Turbo ECU and a NA ECU. I think the year on that is earlier enough that you wouldn't have to worry about the IMMO at all so that shouldn't be a problem. Only other thing I can think of that would be different is the drivetrain too are they both quattro or fwd? I don't know how straightforward this would be as I am SURE it will be a ton of work to do this..To be perfectly honest you might just be better off fixing the one thats already a Turbo or buying one as a turbo. It just sounds like alot of work unless youre planning on doing a custom big turbo set up or something along those lines. I don't mean to discourage you by any means it just sounds like alot of work so be ready for unexpected things to go wrong as I already have a turbo a4 and when you get into modifying anything there are quite a bit of expenses that go hand in hand with it.

The only real issue is your car is drive by wire and the other is drive by cable, which means you'll have to do some wiring work to make it all work. I hope you're good with wiring diagrams.

If they're different drive setups you'll also need to swap out the gas pedal assemblies.
