a 1.8t in good condition costs you $6k, so a budget of $6-8k total is not very realistic. $5k on top of car costs is closer to what you should expect depending mostly on how much you want out of the car.

For less then $6k you can get an elim kit, tuning, fueling, FMIC and clutch. Only thing left would be exhaust.
