Hello to the forum....
I have a 1998 A4 1.8t quattro with tiptronic that has been in our family for has to be 18-19 years or so. We bought it for our daughter to go back and forth to college in the Northeast.
After she graduated and went out on her own, she bought another brand new car and we thought we would sell the A4. For some reason everytime id go out and go past it i couldnt bring myself to send it on its way. A father looks affectionately on a car that looked after his daughter on many snowy trips from RI to Boston for her entire higher education experience. it becomes a member of the family. it has sat for so long and i finally decided to have it live again and have had a ton of work done to make it a safe drive able car again. I am looking for some lost pieces of this car that have caused components to fail hoping to stop the same things from happening again.
The rain tray i guess was removed for service somewhere along the road, and never replaced and leaves got down beneath the battery...clogged the drain....filled with water....and got to the computer, froze the wiper transmission, and subsequently my mechanic broke wiper arms and studs trying to unfreeze it.
its all been replaced now and all my problems just come down to my ross tech VCDS saying the engine is running lean, which im attempting to correct now.
does anyone on this forum know of how i can locate replacement rain tray.....battery cover...and the passenger side vent cover that sealed off this area?
Even finding the correct part numbers is a challenge. ECS tuning used to sell them but no longer....no dealer can obtain them either. If anyone is parting a car out with these still intact, or if anyone knows a salvage company with a good stock of older parts, could they recommend them? Thank you in advance for any additional help anyone can provide.
Im not sure how many people still work on these cars but thought if my questions could be answered, this would be the place to find out.

You wouldn't believe how much I've researched these parts. And im not even sure they are the right ones.
I dont pretend to know everything about these cars, but you are sure the parts you have fit my car? after researching and seeing split vins in the same years....a gut like me gets lost in all the numbers. And even finding the numbers isnt easy. Is it the main cover and a battery cover? Or is it three pieces as ive seen?
Anyway, thanks again for the quick reply and how can we complete a transaction??

All B5 covers should be the same (so yes: the S4 covers should work). Make sure you get the rubber seal (to hold it on) as well.

I'm not a "parts supplier" or retailer, so I can't cross reference part numbers any easier than you can. I simply have a bunch of extra parts in my garage because I've had 3 Audi A4s over the past ten years and I've tuned them all. Not to mention I stripped all of the parts off of one of them before I sold the body. That's why I have parts.
