I've got a 2001 A4, 1.8T Quattro and when I start the engine, the doors automatically lock. It didn't used to do that before and I've had no work done to the control modules or anything. The only thing is that I did get into an accident a few weeks ago and my hood won't close but the locking problem didn't start till a couple weeks after that. It's completely random too. I'll start the engine and the red lights by the locks will blink and lock at times and at times everything will just be normal. Although they do auto-lock, they never auto-unlock.. not even when I stop the car/ take out the key.
Any ideas? Could it be because of the hood that can't close? I also suspect I currently have a weak battery, but I don't see how they would relate. Anyone had this problem before?
