I was told by my mechanic I need to rebuild my 01N automatic tranny, its not shifting ok, takes too long to shift from 2 to 3 or from 3 to 4, overdrive aint working properly. If i hit the gas pedal it wont shift from 4-3 or 3-2. We changed the filter and atf, we dindt find chips or metal pieces in oil pan. Im not getting any codes either. This is an Audi A4 1996 1.8 l aspirated, Dfg tranny, 097 01n, what do you think should I go ahead and rebuild it? I have found some kits (not easy to find, hundreds for 01m, few for 01n...) got a quote from europeantransmission.com for 400a usd, at transtar they said 01m kit should fit 01n, but transmissions look different, got an offer from an ebay seller for 01n for 260 , including piston kit... one other thing, should I replace wire harness and solenoids, what about the valve body? Last question when i shift to reverse and i press the brake and accelerate at the same time I hear a crancking noise, is that the torque converter, can I still drive the car or may I mke things worse with my tranny, thanks...
