Default AWM with regular K03?

After doing some research on what the K03 and K03s should look like from the outside I came to the fairly certain conclusion that my 2001 A4 has a mediocre K03. Did any of them come from the factory this way? or did someone downgrade the turbo at some point? (or at least just the compressor section). I know my engine is an AWM as I decoded the VIN and it has the AWM stamp on the engine. I'll try to post a pic of the turbo as soon as I can.

On a related note, the previous owner installed Revo software and I'm pushing around 27 psi of boost. I'm waiting on a call back from Revo, to see exactly what was installed, if they still know.

all the b5 audi's use a k03, there is not ko3s for us, those are iirc only used in vw applications

as for boosting 27 psi either your gauge is wrong or your overboosting by way too much... i was doing that with a cheap ebay mbc... while waiting for my new n75 to show

so either take out your crappy n75 or crappy mbc

Revo or not, 27psi on a stock turbo is waaaayyy too high. The stock injectors and fuel pump can't keep up with that, which means you're running lean, which is very very bad. Do you have access to a Vag-com by any chance?

Also will get valve lift and or one of the pistons might meet the valve.

Yeah, I thought 27 psi may be a little high. I probably should have mentioned that this turbo has a lot of shaft play, I have an excessive amount of oil in my intake, there's always an oily residue between the intake manifold and fuel injectors despite replacing the O rings, my post cat O2 sensor is always throwing codes, and my car gets 24 mpg at best. I actually have Vag-com on my computer, anything I should check other than the air/fuel ratio?

I was actually thinking about using this as an opportunity to upgrade to a K04 as I don't have enough money for my original plan of a GT30.

So some AWM engine codes from 2001 had the K03s and some didn't?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but two reputable sources seem to contradict one another. This was taken right out of a sticky posted by chaos92287:

"In 2001, the stock hp rose from 150 hp to 170 hp. This was done through a k03s, which has a 5mm wheel shaft (k03 has 4mm), more aggressively angled fins on the compressor wheel and a reduction from 12 fins to 8, so it can hold more boost more efficiently, different compression (from 9.5:1 to 9.3:1) and different programming that increased the boost by .3 bar (from .5 to .8).
