Default B5 LED display change

Hi everyone,

I have a bad led display (common problem for these models)
The question is very simple and probably very stupid
READY?
Should i search for 3gen donor panel from gasoline models like mine (i have a4 b5 year 2001 2.4 AML) or the LED display will fit from diesel cars too, giving the fact, that they are the same FL models from year 2000/2001? I dont need the whole instrument cluster, only the LED display..

IF it works, your mileage will change, as it is stored in the cluster.

lcd
Thats right, its stored in the cluster, but not in the LCD
I wont change the cluster, i just need the cluster for the LCD, i will resolder the working LCD into my cluster..
The question is, should i search for a cluster from only b5 year 2001 and my engine code AML or can i search any cluster from B5 Facelift gasoline cars from 2000 and 2001?

You better be REALLY good at soldering. I can solder pretty damn well and I still sent mine out for R&R.

If you do it yourself, I would imagine your best bet would be to find one with your same VIN code (IE 8D)
