Default b5 s-line

so im considering purchasing a 2000 s-line w 117kmi. 5 speed 2.8. its already tuned. i dont know much about the s-lines, but i do own a 2.8 12v. can anyone tell me the options that they came with. what makes the s-line so special, aside from the nicer quality interior and sport wheel and stuff?

I don't believe any B5 came with an "S-Line" only B6s and up. But they did come with a "sport" package. The only real differences are the sport seats, steering wheel, rims, and suspension. The options I can remember are HID headlights, sport steering wheel, heated seats, ski carrier (the thing in the rear seat when you fold the armrest down and that pouch opens), power driver/passenger seats (I think the facelift B5s came with power passenger, right??), and I don't know, was leather an option or was it standard?

Yes, at 99.5 you had power on the pass side. But I believe leather was always standard on the US 2.8's, but technically an option. And with leather you always get heated seats, at least in the US.

My 99 brochure (which does not necessarily apply to the 99.5 facelift) says the sport package is just:
  • 16" wheels with 205/55 R tires
  • Leather wrapped 3 spoke steering wheel
  • Sport suspension
  • Steering wheel with tiptronic controls.

well that explains why i couldnt find any literature about them on the web. this 2.8 im looking at has an s-line grill. someone told me that the s-line came stock with bilsteins in all 4 corners as does the S4. and all 2.8s ive seen have the good real leather, not that pleather garbage that comes in the 1.8t

you need to get your nomenclature down. there was no b5 a4 s-line, only a b5 a4 sport package. there is no s line grill, either. all a4's came with the same grill. sport package came with different shocks, but I dont believe they were bilsteins in particular
