Default Bad u joint?

So, I have a 98 audi a4 quattro 1.8t. Ive had this issue for a while and I think I finally found the issue but im not sure. During acceleration my car shakes a lot and flashes all the dash lights. (Oil, seatbelt, coolant, etc no check engine) I recently went under the car and I wiggled the drive shaft and it had some play. Could it be my u joint and how difficult is it to fix? If like to do it myself because a shop would cost an arm and a leg as every service does. Opinions?

There are no "U-joints" on your A4, with the exception of the one for the steering wheel. You may indeed have a bad Constant-Velocity (CV) joint; a loose or broken inner joint will vibrate under acceleration. But you obviously have electrical issues that have to be sorted out, which are causing the dash lights. Get the codes scanned and post them.

Hmmm, well the shaking was going on far longer than the lights. The lights were recent and I have a couple codes but from what I remember it was just a bunch of minor things. (Eratic fuel gauge, bad abs module, faulty central locking system ect) but I didn't get anything serious and n check engine lights. My code reader isnt the best so should I go to autozone to check it? I got my ball joints and control arms replaced at a shop in the summer of 2014 and no mention of the cv joint. :/ I paied a lot too. I guess I should check it...
